Sean Erick

Sean Erick plays trumpet and flugelhorn in the Regiment Horns, the Los Angeles-based trio he co-founded with trombonist Kevin Williams and saxophonist Leon Silva. They are part of Justin Timberlake’s backup band the TN Kids, and have also backed an eclectic series of musicians including Lady Gaga, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige and Lupe Fiasco.

Erick took up the trumpet in elementary school. (“They said we could either read silently for thirty minutes every Tuesday or join the band. Easy.”) He continued performing music while at Willard in 1998-1999, and then took off as a star with Berkeley High’s award-winning jazz ensemble. He attended the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating a year early, and then moved to L.A. to pursue a career in contemporary music recording and performance. “For me, it was all about being liquid,” he states on his fan page. “Being prepared for anything can lead you places you never expected.” Despite making his home in SoCal, he remains a rabid fan of the Oakland A’s and the Golden State Warriors, according to his Twitter feed.
